About The Position

The Cutera Quality Assurance department is devoted to assuring safe, reliable and effective products that exceed patient, physician and clinic expectations. The department plays a vital role in product and process quality supporting design, development, manufacturing, and distribution of all Cutera products including systems, hand pieces and accessories. The Quality Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that Cutera products and services meet established quality standards and comply with relevant regulations by working with a team of dedicated individuals within and across departments to verify conformity of Cutera products and supporting manufacturing, testing and quality procedures and processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in medical device quality control, manufacturing, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using various quality measurement tools and equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.
  • Computer proficiency required in Word, Excel, and FileMaker Pro.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of Cutera quality control procedures, processes, and test methods.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of products or services to ensure they meet established quality standards including, but not limited to, Cutera laser systems, handpieces, and accessories.
  • Perform various testing and analysis procedures, such as dimensional checks, material testing, laser power measurements and laser system and handpiece functional testing.
  • Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of quality inspection results.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance product quality.
  • Provide recommendations for adjustments to manufacturing processes or procedures.
  • Create and update quality documentation, including inspection procedures, checklists, and reports.
  • Ensure that all quality-related documentation complies with regulatory standards.
  • Investigate and determine the root causes of quality issues or defects.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues.
  • Communicate issues and defects to peers in manufacturing and engineering.
  • Escalate issues to management as appropriate.
  • Provide training to production and quality control staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards affecting the industry.
  • Verify quality control processes are performed per procedure and communicate discrepancies in procedures and processes to quality engineering and quality management.
  • Other duties as needed or required.
