About The Position

Toromont Cat is looking for a Shop Technician, Heavy Equipment to join their team. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for servicing a particular line of Caterpillar equipment and components in the shop. Your day will include planning, troubleshooting, and repairing, as well as preparing necessary service reports for customers. They are looking for people who are interested in a diverse product range. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team player who will focus on safety and customer satisfaction in every job. Must live within a drivable proximity of Sudbury; accommodations are not provided.

Requirements

• Minimum post-secondary education
• Valid 421A Heavy Equipment Technician or 310T License relative to this position, following Provincial standards
• Minimum 3-5 years of working experience as a Technician

Nice To Haves

• Experience with heavy construction or mining equipment a strong asset

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
• Repair and service Caterpillar and all heavy equipment within the established standards
• Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner
• Maintain excellent customer relations through frequent communication
• Undertake assignments as required in support of customer needs
