About The Position

Do you like to solve technical problems? Are you effective at troubleshooting? If so, we have a challenging opportunity as a Heavy Equipment Technician in Wasilla, Alaska. This role involves diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar equipment, including removing, repairing, assembling, and installing components. You will diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical, and hydraulic systems, requiring experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging, and blocking equipment. The position requires strong planning and organizing skills with an emphasis on controlling job costs. You will investigate, analyze, and identify problems to make recommendations that eliminate the issue. Our technicians work with a variety of people, so strong interpersonal and effective writing communication skills are necessary for utilizing internal and other software programs.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent or a graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school training institution or equivalent experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is vital as it will be used for potential forklift driving and operation of equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, pressure washers, and more.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and Outlook.
  • Ability to stand up to eight hours per day and includes twisting, bending, squatting, sitting stooping and kneeling.
  • Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time to work with our customers will be required.
  • Experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging and blocking equipment is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.

Responsibilities
