The position involves attending to breakdowns, diagnosing faults, overseeing equipment improvements and time-critical repairs, maintaining records, investigating root causes, and recommending solutions. The technician will assist the shop with problem identification, troubleshooting, and equipment issue resolution and repair. Responsibilities also include evaluating non-conforming products, managing spare parts inventory, coordinating contractors, maintaining tools and supplies, conducting facility and equipment inspections, leading Lean 5S + 1 projects, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures. The role requires the safe use of hand and power tools, heavy equipment, and assisting with inventory counts. Additionally, the technician will complete inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance on capillary trailers and deliver parts to technicians on job sites.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of mechanical shop experience
  • Valid drivers license
  • Read, understand and speak English
  • Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as required

Responsibilities

  • Attend to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and oversee equipment improvements and time critical repairs
  • Maintain preventative maintenance and breakdown report and part usage records
  • Investigate the root cause and recommend course of action
  • Assist shop on problem identification, trouble shooting and equipment issue resolution and repair
  • Evaluate non-conforming products to determine appropriate requirements to rework, repair, or scrap items
  • Oversee spare parts inventory and may use a computerized maintenance management system
  • Coordinate and direct contractors for specialized repairs and installations
  • Maintain good working relations with internal customers and contractors
  • Maintain toolkit, supplies, and requisite tool inventory
  • Conduct facility and equipment inspections as a part of the Emergency Response Procedures
  • Lead and implement Lean 5S + 1 project as a role model
  • Know and comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Utilize hand or power tools and heavy equipment, such as, forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe, reliable manner
  • Assist with inventory counts of current stock levels to identify potential shortages or excesses
  • Complete inspections, repair of parts and routine maintenance on capillary trailers
  • Deliver parts to technicians on job sites
