About The Position

DPF Alternatives is seeking a part-time, permanent Shop Technician/Delivery Driver to join their team. This role involves a split schedule between shop duties and pickup/delivery driving. The company specializes in cleaning and restoring diesel engine aftertreatment system components, including Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs), Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOCs), and Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) devices, utilizing advanced techniques like ultrasonic cleaning and offering a lifetime warranty. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Professional demeanor
  • Ability to lift (including heavy items)
  • Ability to operate basic hand and power tools
  • Cutting and welding of exhaust tubing
  • Disassembly and removal of exhaust sensors (EGT, NOx, differential pressure, etc.)
  • Ability to operate a tablet for recording data on digital workflow
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Steel toe boots and proper PPE required

Nice To Haves

  • Auto mechanic skills are a plus for potential future in-house diagnostics, removal, and reinstallation of DPFs on light-duty diesel trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and restoration of Diesel Particulate Filters, Diesel Oxidation Catalysts, and Select Catalyst Reduction devices.
  • Disassembly and cutting open of components to prepare for service.
  • Inspecting components and identifying those that require replacement.
  • Operating cleaning equipment.
  • Operating equipment to replace damaged substrates in Diesel Particulate Filters and Diesel Oxidation Catalysts.
  • Using a digital workflow to record all cleaning and remanufacturing processes.
  • Greeting walk-in customers, building invoices, and taking payments.
  • Picking up filters and aftertreatment components from customers.
  • Delivering clean/serviced components/filters back to customers.
  • Gathering required information (customer contact, vehicle information, pictures of components) using a digital workflow application during pickups.
  • Cleaning the shop and maintaining the delivery vehicle.
  • Assisting the outside sales team with sales efforts.
  • Performing welding for exhaust tubing and replacement sensor bungs.
  • Identifying filter part numbers and pairing with correct replacement clamps and gaskets.
  • Performing daily walk-around and safety checks before starting routes.
  • Working with outside sales representatives to facilitate filter sales and generate new sales.
  • Representing DPF Alternatives to customers in a respectful and ethical manner.
  • Adhering to all Company standard procedures, policies, and safety practices.
