About The Position

DPF Alternatives is seeking a part-time, permanent Shop Technician/Delivery Driver to join their team in Fort Worth. This role involves a split of time between shop duties and pickup/delivery driving. The company specializes in industry-leading cleaning techniques for diesel engine aftertreatment system components, including ultra-sonic Diesel Particulate Filter cleaning with a lifetime warranty. Requirements

• Steel toe boots and proper PPE are required.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean driving record.
• Professional demeanor to represent the company well in front of customers and vendors.
• Ability to lift (including heavy items).
• Must be able to operate basic hand and power tools.
• Cutting and welding of exhaust tubing.
• Disassembly and removal of exhaust sensors (EGT, NOx, differential pressure, etc.).
• Operate a tablet for recording data on digital workflow.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Must be physically able to spend much of your day driving to and from DPF Alternatives customers.
• Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Daily travel within the Company’s geographical footprint is required.

Nice To Haves

• Auto mechanic skills are a plus, as the company plans to perform diagnostic, removal, and reinstallation of diesel particulate filters in-house on light duty diesel trucks.
• Prior welding experience is not required, as the company will provide and pay for training.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and/or restoration of Diesel Particulate Filters, Diesel Oxidation Catalysts, and Select Catalyst Reduction devices.
• Performing disassembly and/or cutting open of components to prepare for service.
• Inspecting components and identifying those that cannot be cleaned and require replacement.
• Operating cleaning equipment.
• Operating equipment to replace damaged substrates in Diesel Particulate Filters and Diesel Oxidation Catalysts.
• Using a digital workflow to record all cleaning and remanufacturing processes.
• Greeting walk-in customers, building invoices for completed work, and taking payment for parts or services.
• Picking up filters and aftertreatment components from customers.
• Bringing components back to the facility for servicing.
• Delivering clean/serviced components/filters back to customers.
• Gathering required information (customer contact, vehicle information, pictures of components, etc.) using a digital workflow application during pickups.
• Cleaning the shop and maintaining the delivery vehicle in between deliveries or when there are no filters to clean/remanufacture.
• Assisting the outside sales team with sales efforts.
• Cutting off and welding on replacement sensor bungs for damaged ones.
• Identifying filter part number and pairing with correct replacement clamps and gaskets.
• Creating and sending invoices to customers after work is completed.
• Keeping the delivery vehicle clean and up-to-date on maintenance.
• Performing daily walk-around and safety checks before starting the first route.
• Working with the assigned outside sales representative to facilitate filter sales and generate new sales.
• Representing DPF Alternatives to customers in a respectful and ethical manner, and creating referral partners.
• Adhering to all Company standard procedures, policies, and safety practices.
