About The Position

As a Shop Tech III, Machining, you will support the MBVS Machine Shop at our New Stanton, PA facility. You will report to the Assistant Area Manager, Mechanical. This is an anchor position that is required on site 5 days per week.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or recognized equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of professional experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Journeyman machining card or recognized equivalent
  • Knowledge of tooling, fixtures arid machine set-up to achieve quality precision machined components.
  • Familiar with and practice 5S principals.
  • Prior experience performing highly technical and close tolerance work to engineering drawings and written instructions.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming using Mastercam software for multi-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, including the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex machining programs to ensure quality, efficiency, and production requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing department metal removing and metal forming machines.
  • Support the development and/or determination of machining operations, selects tooling, makes setups and develops processes and procedures. Selects and uses necessary measuring tools.
  • Select and use hand tools. Work from drawings, sketches, written instructions or verbal instructions
  • Perform technical and close tolerance work to engineering drawings and written instructions.
  • Operate any of the machine tool types that they are qualified for on the department training matrix with a minimal amount of training.
  • Determine the need for and fabricate jigs and tooling.
  • Practice proper housekeeping, observing all safety and criticality procedures.
  • Ensure required tolerances are met during the machining process by maintaining quality of work.
  • Practice 5S principals and observe all safety policies.
  • Run multiple machines at the same time, based on proximity, qualifications and training
  • Modify or troubleshoot machining programs, based on machine qualification and training.
  • Set-up machine tools and component or casting to ensure the proper machining of the part, component or casting to print specifications. Depending upon the size of the part and the respective complexity, set-up time can vary.
