About The Position

This position demonstrates the ability to perform basic inspections, basic diagnoses, and basic repairs of heavy equipment and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines. Works as a member of a team to provide basic mechanical services that satisfies customer needs and achieves departmental goals. Entry-level position – Generally has less than two years of experience and/or demonstrated job relevant knowledge/skills. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; works under immediate supervision. Requirements

General knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
Operation and control skills - Controlling operations of equipment or systems
Equipment selection skills - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
Ability to operate a conventional forklift
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair
The ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact position
The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
The ability to read, write, and understand information
The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Must have/acquire basic mechanic hand and pneumatic tools (metric/standard)

Nice To Haves

One or more years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

Performs basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures
Assists in the rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining of equipment and components
Learns how to plan equipment and component repairs
Learns how to complete parts orders and identify parts for return
Maintains all equipment and work areas – keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition
Completes all documents associated with repairs in a timely manner
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., ProTech Technician Training Paths
Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
Performs other duties as assigned
