About The Position

This entry-level position demonstrates the ability to perform basic inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of heavy equipment and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines. The technician works as a member of a team to provide basic mechanical services that satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals. Generally has less than two years of experience and/or demonstrated job-relevant knowledge/skills, relying on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions under immediate supervision. The incumbent is expected to model company mission and core business values, collaborate with key resources, and participate in ongoing self-development.

Requirements

One or more years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
General knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
Ability to operate a conventional forklift
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair
Must have/acquire basic mechanic hand and pneumatic tools (metric/standard)

Responsibilities

Performs basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures
Assists in the rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining of equipment and components
Learns how to plan equipment and component repairs
Learns how to complete parts orders and identify parts for return
Maintains all equipment and work areas – keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition
Completes all documents associated with repairs in a timely manner
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
Updates job knowledge by participating in ongoing educational opportunities, e.g., ProTech Technician Training Paths
Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
Performs other duties as assigned
