About The Position

Hugg and Hall Equipment Company is looking for someone with advanced mechanical knowledge and strong communication skills to join our team as a Service Tech in the shop. Shop Service Techs are responsible for diagnosing and repairing various types of material handling and construction equipment at the local branch shop. In this role, you will perform equipment maintenance, inspections, and overhauls in the company's service shop. You will continuously communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and co-workers including Salespeople, Coordinators, and Managers regarding job progress updates. You will operate in a safe, efficient manner with minimal supervision and adhere to safety guidelines while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements

  • At least 1-year of hands-on mechanical experience or training/education in a related field
  • Must have or be able to obtain complete line of tools
  • Technical skills in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Ability to read or be trained in reading schematics
  • Ability to obtain equipment operator certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Passing of pre-employment background check, physical abilities test, drug test and driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a service technician or mechanic in the material handling equipment industry a huge plus
  • Technical college/trade school diploma or certification a big plus
