About The Position

Under departmental direction, conducts maintenance, repair, and overhaul of machinery and vehicles at Flory Line Construction. This position will diagnose mechanical problems, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure that all equipment is in optimal working condition; performs related work as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent - required
3+ years of experience with heavy equipment, diesel, or hydraulic repair – required.
Valid CDL Class A license with air brake endorsement (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
Ability to read and interpret schematics, repair manuals, and technical drawings.
Ability to think critically and solve problems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to maintain a safe working environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and management.
Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, and supervision.
Required to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours.

Nice To Haves

associates degree or certification in related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

Performs preventative maintenance and major repairs on utility line construction equipment and vehicles.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and low voltage electrical issues – shop/field.
Maintain accurate service records, inspection logs, and parts inventories.
Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
Respond to emergency mechanical needs during storm restoration and critical outages.
Test machinery after repair to ensure proper working order and make finishing adjustments.
Commitment to safe work practices in all conditions.
Understands that department needs can change quickly and maintains flexibility to complete work.
Will be required to travel to job sites as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
