Shop Mechanic (Fleet)
About The Position
The Shop Mechanic position works at various locations. The position may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands. This role involves managing the development of equipment in cities and states within the region, requiring knowledge of the mechanics of equipment ranging from cranes to chainsaws. The mechanic will work safely while performing repairs or maintenance in a garage and in the field in various weather conditions, including troubleshooting equipment repair, maintenance, and deployment in various localities. A significant aspect of the role involves working around energized high voltage systems, demanding skill and care to ensure safety. The position is also responsible for maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
Requirements
- Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
- Requires 1-5 years of experience.
- Must have or able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Must have own general tools.
- Must be able to learn or perform work in the following disciplines: Hydraulics, Diesel/gas engine – automatic, Chassis and suspension, Welding/metal fabrication, Small tool repair.
- Must know or be able to learn how to use a computer for: Diagnostics, Equipment Inventory management, Work Orders.
- Able to work for extended periods throughout various locations, when required.
- Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
- Willing to work over-time when requested.
- Must be able to follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies.
Nice To Haves
- Certifications of Experiences in any of the following a plus: ASE certification, Ford or international certifications, Altec/Telelect Hydraulic maintenance, Utility or construction jobs.
