Overhaul and repair of crane components and accessories for Morrow Equipment Company. Responsible for loading and unloading equipment and to operate forklift as requested. The ability to overhaul and repair crane and hoist components using mechanics hand and power tools, welding equipment, and understanding technical drawings is essential. Learning and operating shop machinery and small electrical power tools is also part of the role. Responsibility for the repair and service of shop equipment and machines, knowledge of electrical and mechanical hoist and crane systems, and proper handling of equipment for transportation and storage are expected. This includes examining protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on equipment, and making adjustments using hand or power tools. The ability to assemble parts lists as needed for equipment repair and to assist the District Service Manager and Shop/Yard Foreman with maintenance and repair of cranes and hoists is required. Servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment such as gearboxes, race bearings, and hydraulic systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, and performing maintenance on all tools and shop equipment are also key duties. Ensuring all lifting equipment is in safe operating condition prior to use and following all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures, including proper usage of Company-supplied PPE (hard hats, safety glasses, body harnesses, arc flash, etc.) are mandatory. Representing the Company professionally, including wearing Company-supplied MEC Branded shirts or FR uniforms, and proper maintenance of Company vehicles, tools, and equipment are expected. Compliance with safety regulations, standards, and Company policies is required. Unsafe conditions and/or practices must be reported to the District Service Manager or, if unavailable, the Corporate Safety Director, Corporate Service Manager, or Vice President of Operations. Timely completion and submission of required paperwork and reports to the Corporate office, and safeguarding of Company tools and equipment are responsibilities of this role. The ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights as required is necessary. Willingness to work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, according to business needs, and performance of other duties as assigned by the District Service Manager or Shop/Yard Foremen are also part of the role.
