About The Position

Curtis Contracting, Inc. (CCI) is seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to perform inspections, mechanical adjustments, diagnosis, repairs, and parts replacements for the company's fleet vehicles and heavy equipment. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency of our diverse fleet. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic and electrical skills, with a comprehensive understanding of engines and transmissions. We are a Class “A” contractor prequalified with VDOT, in business since 1985, with divisions including Civil, Heavy Highway, Road & Bridge Maintenance, and Federal. Requirements

10+ years of relevant experience.
Strong diagnostic skills.
Strong electrical skills.
Well-rounded knowledge of engines and transmissions.
Good driving record.
Valid Driver's license and safe driving record required.

Nice To Haves

CDL and State Inspection is a plus.
CDL license with air brake certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections and mechanical adjustments for company fleet vehicles and heavy equipment.
Diagnose, repair, and replace parts for company fleet vehicles and heavy equipment.
Diagnose services through proficient use of electronic testing equipment.
Perform minor repairs, including electrical components, power windows, power mirrors, and door locks.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance on company vehicles and fleet trucks, such as work on brakes, fuel pumps, alternators, air conditioning, oil changes, tire balancing and rotation, and replacing batteries.
Ensure repair orders are completed accurately, utilizing current parts and manufacturer updates and changes.
Perform other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
