We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Shop Mechanic Assistant to support our mechanic with the maintenance, repair, and organization of company vehicles, trailers, and equipment. This position will assist with routine shop tasks, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, parts organization, and transporting equipment as needed. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, and willing to learn while contributing to a safe and productive work environment. Why Apply? Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record for the past three (3) years
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
  • Must wear work boots, company uniforms, and company-provided PPE at all times
  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions and around insects, poisonous plants, allergens, and other environmental hazards
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Experience hauling and backing trailers preferred
  • Basic mechanical knowledge preferred but not required
  • Troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Landscape industry experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist the mechanic with equipment, vehicle, and trailer maintenance and repairs
  • Perform routine shop cleaning, organization, and inventory tasks
  • Transport equipment and materials as needed
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Conduct equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns
  • Load, unload, and secure equipment on trailers
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Complete other shop and maintenance-related duties as assigned
