Requirements

  • Experience in fire protection, construction, or mechanical operations
  • Knowledge of sprinkler systems
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with purchasing systems and POs
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
  • Ability to work in shop environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct shop and warehouse operations, including daily oversight, fabrication, inventory, and material flow.
  • Maintain an organized, efficient, and productive work environment.
  • Respond to emergency calls and support urgent field operations.
  • Manage inventory of pipe, fittings, valves, hangers, and sprinkler heads.
  • Forecast material needs based on project schedules.
  • Create and manage purchase orders (POs).
  • Maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Monitor material costs, identify savings opportunities, and negotiate pricing with suppliers.
  • Reduce waste and control expenditures.
  • Ensure field crews have required materials and tools, stage jobs, and coordinate deliveries.
  • Resolve material issues impacting productivity.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor shop personnel, assigning tasks and managing schedules.
  • Oversee maintenance of shop equipment and vehicles.
  • Keep the shop clean and organized.
  • Enforce OSHA standards and ensure compliance with NFPA codes.
  • Utilize Salesforce to track materials and jobs.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting.
