About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and deliver its standards for oil changes and other light maintenance services. The position is open to candidates with or without prior management experience; paid training is provided. Experienced managers may earn $55,000 or more per year through base salary and bonus opportunities. The role includes hands-on support for the crew and performing automotive services as needed. The company describes a growth path from Pit Tech to President, with more than 90% of field leaders promoted internally.

Requirements

• Basic computer operating skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
• Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.

Nice To Haves

• Prior management or leadership experience is valued but not required.
• Experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail, mechanics, landscaping, or other skilled trades may be relevant.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
• Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
• Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
• Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
• Understand shop financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
• Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
• Support crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other automotive services.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other automotive services as necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure the team executes Take 5 standards for oil changes, wiper blade and air filter replacement, tire inflation, and other light maintenance services.
