About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shop Manager to lead one of our locations. We are a well-established company with over 35 years of experience, known for our efficient oil change process and friendly service, allowing customers to remain in their vehicles. We offer a clear growth path, with over 90% of our field leaders promoted internally. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership potential, whether they have prior experience in the automotive industry or transferable skills from fields like retail, restaurants, or other service industries. We provide comprehensive paid training, covering all aspects of shop management and light automotive services.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position yourself safely under cars.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
- Willingness to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Basic computer operating skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a leader in oil change shops, restaurants, retail stores, or other businesses.
- Experience as a server, restaurant worker, mechanic, retail employee, landscaper, or other skilled trade worker.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members.
- Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll.
- Controlling inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory.
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory.
- Understanding the shop’s financials to drive results and manage the budget.
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations.
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services.
- Performing oil changes, including draining motor oil and changing oil filters.
- Providing excellent customer service.
