About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Shop Manager to lead our team at Shop#432 in Houston, TX. We are a growing company with over 35 years of experience, known for our efficient oil change process that allows customers to stay in their vehicles. We offer a clear growth path, with over 90% of our field leaders being internal promotions. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership potential, whether they have prior experience in the automotive industry or transferable skills from fields like retail, restaurants, or other service industries. We provide comprehensive paid training for all new managers.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position yourself safely under cars.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
- Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Must have basic computer operating skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the oil change industry is valued but not required.
- Transferable leadership experience from restaurants, retail, or other businesses is a plus.
- Opportunity to join as an Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training for those without prior management experience.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members.
- Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll.
- Controlling inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory.
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory.
- Understanding the shop’s financials to drive results and manage the budget.
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations.
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil, replacing wiper blades/air filters, and filling tires.
- Performing auto services such as draining motor oil and changing oil filters.
- Providing excellent customer service.
