About The Position

Purdys Chocolatier is seeking an enthusiastic Shop Manager for their new "pop-up" shop in Totem Mall (Fort St. John). This is a full-time, 6-month contract position responsible for achieving overall profitability, maintaining efficient shop operations, and providing effective leadership and management to the retail staff. The Shop Manager acts as a liaison between the shop and the Purdys Support Office, supporting its policies, programs, and initiatives. Success in this role depends on the ability to engage with customers, drive sales, and work collaboratively in a team environment. The role requires open availability for various shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. There is potential for the role to become permanent based on business needs and performance.

Requirements

At least two years of progressive management experience in a fast-paced retail/hospitality environment.
Passionate about chocolate.

Responsibilities

Achieve profit goals through sales drive.
Provide Customer Obsessed Service and Sales through leadership by example, training, coaching, managing and scheduling others.
Select quality team members by effectively recruiting, interviewing and hiring.
Train and develop team members to become productive and promotable internal candidates.
Control inventory levels of product and supplies to meet daily requirements.
Serve as a liaison between the shop and the Purdys Support Office and positively support its policies, programs and initiatives.
