About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shop Manager to lead our team at location #70. We are a well-established company with over 35 years of experience, known for our efficient oil change process and friendly service, allowing customers to remain in their vehicles. We offer a clear growth path, with over 90% of our field leaders promoted internally. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership potential, whether they have prior experience in management or are looking to transition from fields like restaurants, retail, or skilled trades. We provide comprehensive paid training, covering all aspects of shop management and light automotive services.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position safely under cars
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods
- Ability to perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
- Willingness to work in hot/cold weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop
- Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
- Basic computer operating skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail, or other businesses is valued but not required.
- Experience as a server, restaurant worker, mechanic, retail employee, landscaper, or other skilled trade worker.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members
- Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
- Controlling inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory
- Understanding shop financials to drive results and manage budget
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
- Performing auto services including draining motor oil and changing oil filters
- Providing excellent customer service
