About The Position

The Shop Manager/Lead Mechanic is responsible for supervising and managing all activities related to off-road vehicle recreation maintenance, including ATVs, RZRs, snowmobiles, boats, and more. The employee needs to be flexible, possess excellent trade skills, be willing to help out wherever needed, be comfortable working outside, and be committed to delivering the highest quality of work possible. The position is located just south of Jackson Hole, in Alpine, nestled against the Snake River and mountains. Alpine Adventure Rentals is the premier spot for locals and visiting guests ready to explore the area via ATVs, RZRs, snowmobiles, or by taking a boat on the nearby Palisades Reservoir in Idaho.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Working knowledge of production and facility equipment and devices.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals.
  • Demonstrated skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to negotiate machine custody and service schedules.
  • Skills in using predictive maintenance techniques and root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to non-technical or production operators.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Knowledge of the operating practices of preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and training to Back Shop Team
  • Greet guests and provide an orientation of all safety and necessary equipment concerns, basic etiquette, area regulations, safety procedures, resource protection
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures to ensure safety of guests
  • Be aware of MSDS sheets and be able to use this information when necessary
  • Perform maintenance on ATVs, RZRs, boats, vehicles, engines, electrical, etc.
  • Inspect and repair any major repairs needed.
  • Assist with maintenance projects when needed.
  • Demonstrates efficient and safe use of equipment and tools.
  • Must be honest, dependable and forthright, with the ability to confidently work without direct supervision.
  • Ensures security of company assets and a safe work environment through daily maintenance and housekeeping
  • Works in conditions that involve exposure to unusual elements and extreme temperatures
  • Maintains excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
