About The Position

We are looking for a Shop Machinist to join our 1st and 2nd shift Repair Center team. In this role, you will operate and maintain machining equipment while ensuring parts and products meet quality standards through precise measurements and inspections. You will help ensure repair work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Metso specifications, Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements, customer expectations, and legal requirements. You will report to the Repair Production Manager. This role is based in Mesa, Arizona and involves little to no travel, with up to 5% travel as needed. You will join our Repair Center team, working closely with the Repair Production Manager, Repair Center Leads, Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel, and other colleagues to support the repair and maintenance of mining machinery and equipment. Our team plays a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality repair work, with a shared focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience as a machinist in the heavy equipment, manufacturing, or mining industry.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, pi tapes, and scales.
Understanding of precision bearings, bushings, gearing, and the heating and cooling of components for disassembly and assembly.
Ability to assess problems, identify technical discrepancies, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safe working practices.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain CNC and manual machines, including lathes, mills, and other heavy equipment.
Perform minor and major repairs on large and small mining machinery received at the Repair Center.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to complete machining and repair work accurately.
Determine appropriate methods and working processes for specialized and complex machining and repair jobs.
Inspect and control the quality of completed work using precise measurements and collaborate with Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to support equipment reliability and performance.
Collaborate with the Repair Production Manager and Repair Center Leads to track project completion, communicate work and assembly status, and escalate issues when needed.
Develop and follow working procedures that improve quality and efficiency, identify opportunities to improve equipment utilization, and complete required work and safety reports.
