About The Position

The Shop Helper is responsible for various tasks to support shop operations, including deburring, polishing, and cleaning parts. This role also involves assembling boxes, packaging products, and assisting with shipping and receiving duties. The position requires safe operation of a company vehicle for loading, unloading, and delivering/picking up products from suppliers and customers. Maintaining the cleanliness of the company vehicle and work areas, adhering to safety policies, and accurately completing paperwork are also key aspects of this role. Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Requires great attention to detail and the ability to read paperwork and specifications.
• Must have an excellent driving record.
• Consistently at work and on time.
• Follows written and verbal instructions, responds to management direction.
• Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
• Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Deburrs or polishes parts.
• Scrapes or rubs parts with file, wire brush, or buffing cloth.
• Part buffing or grinding.
• Processes parts through the tumbler.
• Cleans parts.
• Assembles boxes and packages product according to shipping procedures and customer requirements.
• Assists in Shipping & receiving as needed.
• Safely and efficiently load and unload items using company vehicle.
• Safely delivers and pick-up of product to and from suppliers and customers using a non-DOT Box Truck.
• Maintains cleanliness of company vehicle and Shipping & receiving areas.
• Accurately completes all required paperwork.
• Abides by and supports all safety and quality system requirements.
• Provides good feedback and promotes good communication.
• Promotes and lives company culture.
• Assists with other shop duties and shipping when necessary.
