About The Position

The Shop Helper is responsible for assisting and learning in all areas of the Fabrication and Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Departments. This position is located in Houston, Texas at our Englobal Fabrication and Integration Shop.

Requirements

6+ months experience in Metal Fabrication or Construction (Residential or Commercial)
Must be able to read a tape measure
Must be able to work weekends and overtime when necessary
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
Must be able to pass a background check
Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
Pushing, pulling and reaching
Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience operating various machines and presses preferred
Experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

Understand general safety awareness and practices
Perform assignments in a safe and efficient manner
Participate actively in and contribute to the overall safe operations of the facility and personnel
Operate forklift / overhead crane
Use grinders, cutting torches and air tools
Use hand, battery, corded and air tools for cutting, drilling, forming and sanding
Read and utilize a tape measure accurately
Operate various machines and presses
Assist and learn in all areas of the Fabrication and I&E Departments
Help clean the office and shop
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
