About The Position

The Shop Helper will be responsible for ensuring parts are available, moving materials between workstations, and general assistance to welders. Must work independently and as a team as required to achieve production, quality, and quantity goals. Key Technology has been providing innovative solutions to the food industry since 1948. Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blue prints and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write short routine correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, blue print or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand.
  • Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Trained on packet tracking process and consistently completes this process without supervision
  • Correctly disposes of used blast media when needed
  • Train in sieve testing of blast media and completes testing as required

Responsibilities

  • At all times ensures safety is a top priority while performing any part of your job.
  • Execute instructions given by department Supervisor and/or Lead.
  • Observes operation of machines to develop understanding.
  • Assist supervisor/lead by loading jobs to the specified location.
  • Establish a cordial and professional relationship with fellow employees.
  • Assist other employees with day-to-day tasks as needed.
  • Understand and follow the proper workflow of assigned jobs.
  • Transport completed work to the next department.
  • Obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Obtain and maintain overhead crane certification.
  • Complete monthly tool calibration as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
