The Shop Foreman is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for employees and visitors, understanding and enforcing safety rules and requirements, including PPE equipment and supplies. This role involves training, guiding, and supporting Heavy Equipment Technicians and additional service personnel in safe practices and standard operational procedures. The Shop Foreman assists the Service Manager in accident/incident investigations, recruiting, and evaluating work orders. They direct and assist technicians in equipment diagnosis, maintain a diverse "ready line" of heavy equipment and specialty attachments, and oversee functions and personnel within the Wash Rack area. This position also advises the Service Manager of customer complaints, coordinates technician training, and assists with safety meetings. The Shop Foreman may fill the Service Manager role in their absence, approve equipment release for delivery, and provide performance feedback. They must adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and comply with government and BLE safety and regulation requirements. Additionally, they assist with special projects and cover multiple positions when staffing levels are low or operating demands are accelerated.
