About The Position
The Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service shop. Primary duties consist of coordinating flow of repair orders with the technicians ensuring repairs are completed safely, timely and according to dealership and manufacturer standards.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of automotive systems
- Proven mechanical experience in a dealership environment preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Ability to lead, motivate and coach others
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the work of service technicians, assigning work orders according to each technicians skill level.
- Provide guidance training and technical support to the team.
- Perform final quality checks on repairs.
- Manage shop workflow ensuring timely completion of repairs while maintaining high quality work.
- Communicate frequently with Service Advisors on status of repairs, potential delays and relay any other information the customer needs to know.
- Ensure correct parts are ordered for repairs.
- Maintain records for all repairs and part used.
