About The Position

Plains Towing is seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Shop Foreman / Class A CDL Heavy Tow Operator to support their Gillette and Sundance, Wyoming locations. This role involves leading by example while operating advanced recovery equipment. The company emphasizes a "state-of-the-art" approach with a refined fleet, including the largest 60-ton rotator wrecker in the region. Prior towing experience is preferred but not required, as the company provides paid in-house training and support for individuals with the initiative to learn. Responsibilities will be assigned based on training progress.

Requirements

  • Must be 23+ years old.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License (Class A CDL preferred/required depending on specific unit; training and certification path provided).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, fit-for-duty physical exam and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a hands-on team leader and the physical, day-to-day representation of company values and priorities.
  • Work with the District Manager as an on-the-ground extension.
  • Set the standard for the team through personal performance, safety practices, and professionalism.
  • Load and unload vehicles with precision to ensure damage-free transport.
  • Operate specialized company equipment in compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Pursue certification progressing from light duty through heavy duty recovery operations.
  • Attend all training courses associated with the Class A CDL position.
  • Assist with scheduling and prioritizing vehicle maintenance and repairs to minimize fleet downtime.
  • Assist with facility maintenance and upkeep.
  • Ensure assigned equipment remains in peak operating condition.
  • Maintain readiness for occasional long-distance travel on short notice.
