About The Position

Engineered Facades is a high-value provider of architectural sustainable exterior facades of metal and other materials that deliver superior performance, durability and aesthetics for commercial buildings. Our knowledgeable, dedicated associates work professionally with an exclusive group of vendors and customers in an environment built on commitment and trust. The Shop Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting daily shop operations by assisting the Shop Foreman with organizing and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. This hands-on position involves managing inventory, ensuring shop cleanliness, handling materials, and supporting fabrication and field measuring tasks. The role requires a proactive and mechanically inclined individual capable of operating trade-related tools and equipment while adhering to safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience in manufacturing or as a field installer of exterior façade components
  • Knowledge of fabrication procedures and ability to work with shop drawings
  • Proficient in using computer-oriented equipment such as laptops and mobile phones
  • Mechanically inclined with strong manual dexterity and ability to follow directions
  • Working knowledge of shop safety and ability to complete safety orientation
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • At least 10-hour OSHA training, with 30-hour OSHA preferred
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, and dependability
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Drug-free at all times

Responsibilities

  • Perform weekly inventory reviews and coordinate material ordering with Shop Foreman and team
  • Maintain safety supplies and tools to ensure shop safety compliance
  • Handle materials before, during, and after the fabrication process
  • Assist with layout and control of façade systems fabricated in the shop
  • Work independently on various fabrication projects as needed
  • Operate all trade-related tools and shop equipment competently
  • Use computerized and mobile equipment applications effectively
  • Assist in field measuring and modifying system components on project sites
  • Read and interpret architectural, manufacturing, and engineered façade system drawings
  • Operate forklift safely and efficiently (certified)
  • Receive and check in all incoming materials and manage on-site project deliveries
  • Assist with fleet vehicle maintenance and upkeep
  • Maintain cleanliness of the shop and office areas, including trash and recycling
  • Follow all safety and incident reporting procedures, escalating issues appropriately
  • Perform other duties as assigned
