About The Position

The Arizona Game and Fish Department manages fish and wildlife in Arizona and under the authority of the Arizona Game and Fish Commission, creates and implements scientific methods and regulations to effectively manage fish and wildlife habitat via conservation, enforcement, hunting, fishing, watercraft and off-highway vehicle recreation, and shooting sports. The Arizona Game and Fish Department dedicates itself to excellence, values its employees and supports a culture of stewardship, teamwork and partnerships. This role matters because 95% of wildlife conservation funding in North America comes from sportsmen, through excise taxes on firearms, ammunition, and archery equipment (Pittman-Robertson Act). Your efforts in recruiting youth and training volunteer coaches directly ensure the continued funding of habitat restoration, species protection, and outdoor recreation access for all Arizonans. As the Shooting Sports Program Coordinator, you are the architect of Arizona’s future in outdoor recreation. By leading the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and statewide shooting initiatives, you do more than manage a schedule—you build a legacy. Your work directly ensures the safety, skill, and growth of the next generation of marksmen and conservationists. By cultivating a highly skilled cadre of coaches and volunteers, you create a ripple effect that promotes responsible firearm ownership, sportsmanship, and a lifelong passion for Arizona’s outdoor heritage.
