About The Position

The City of Rawlins Recreation Services Department is seeking applications for a Part-time Shooting Range Assistant. This role is responsible for the indoor and outdoor shooting ranges and will work under the general supervision of the Shooting Range Supervisor and Parks & Recreation Director, with a significant amount of independence in completing job responsibilities. The position involves supervision over shooters at the ranges, responsibility for policing range areas, and technical tasks related to the administration of shooting programs. Care and maintenance of equipment and facilities are also required. Working hours vary according to events and will require evenings and weekends. This is a permanent part-time position, not to exceed 20 hours per week, with a salary of $19.70/hr and no benefits.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Successfully clear a pre-employment background check
• Successfully clear a pre-employment drug screen

• Good knowledge of sporting and shooting equipment
• Knowledge of range and safety procedures
• Ability to teach the fundamentals of shooting
• Good judgment
• Completed firearm safety training
