About The Position

The Shoes Associate is responsible for creating a professional and pleasant atmosphere in their assigned department, ensuring the smooth operation of department policies and procedures, and maintaining personal sales volume. This role involves direct customer interaction, sales promotion, merchandise presentation, and inventory management.

Requirements

High School Degree or Equivalent.
Pleasant, congenial, accurate, efficient, flexible, motivated, fashion minded.
Ability to organize.
Ability to follow instructions in a timely manner.
Trustworthy.
Pleasant telephone etiquette.
Basic mathematical skills.
Required to stand for specified time periods.
Walk, talk or hear.
Use hands and have ability to reach overhead.
Regular lifting or moving of up to 5lbs, possible up to 25lbs.
Requires bending, stooping.
Limited ability to climb stairs.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to write, count, and read required shipping/ company paperwork.

Responsibilities

Ensures friendly customer service with a smile in the assigned area.
Promotes the opening of charge accounts and gift card purchases.
Understands and carries out all company policies and selling floor procedures.
Aids in the proper presentation of merchandise, including ticketing, signing, sizing, and display.
Participates in the preparation of merchandise for sales and special promotions.
Participates in the training of new sales associates.
Follows area assignments to ensure an efficient, smooth running department with high morale.
Takes inventories and maintains unit control records.
Alerts management to ways to prevent shoplifting and internal shrinkage.
Participates in daily fill-ins from under stock and back stock to ensure complete color and size availability.
Assists in daily stock.
Communicates needs or customer requests to management.
Makes every effort to maintain personal and departmental sales volume and sales commission goals.
Exhibits competent sales techniques to prospective customers in a friendly manner.
Performs assigned tasks with minimal supervision in a timely manner.
