About The Position

This role is responsible for assisting with all tasks in the shipping process, coordinating daily shipments, preparing and packaging orders, and managing shipping material inventory. The position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Team members are expected to understand and adhere to all company policies regarding safety, human resources, and quality.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required.
Able to multitask and maintain focus on following documented shipping instructions.
Must have attention to detail.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer proficiency
Basic math skills
Strong team player
This position is deemed a safety sensitive position always requiring alertness.
Able to read, write and fluently communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

Shipping experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists with completing all tasks required in the shipping process.
Assists with coordinating daily shipments with Production Supervisors.
Assembles cardboard containers and affixes shipping labels.
Prepares/packages orders for shipments according to the customer’s shipping instructions.
Verifies/weighs/measures shipment accuracy against job traveler.
Assists the Warehouse Shipping Administrator with generating Bills of Lading and Packing Slips.
Accurately enters job specific information into Sturges integrated computer system.
Manages shipping material inventory levels.
Contacts freight companies for shipment pick up.
Loads trucks.
Assist with cycle counts.
Maintain a neat and clean work area.
