About The Position

Wausau Tile is seeking a Shipping – Yard & Loading team member. This position is responsible for material staging, loading products for shipment, and assisting with a variety of yard and maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate should be hardworking, safety-conscious, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team while operating forklifts, loaders, and other equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve materials from indoor or outdoor inventory using forklifts or loaders.
  • Stage materials in production areas according to weekly schedules and pour requirements.
  • Handle bulk materials (aggregates, liquids, oversized items) appropriately.
  • Communicate with production, planning, and management to address material needs.
  • Load finished products onto flatbed trailers, containers, and cube vans.
  • Use forklifts, hoists, and team lifting techniques for heavy items.
  • Secure products to prevent damage during transport.
  • Assist with receiving tasks as needed.
  • Maintain aggregate and raw material inventory levels using the MES system.
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of materials, including winter aggregate storage.
  • Order materials proactively based on production needs and visual checks.
  • Load dump trucks with waste materials such as broken tile, sample returns, and mixer washouts.
  • Perform yard maintenance tasks such as grading, filling holes, and plowing snow.
  • Bag aggregate for upcoming jobs and maintain cleanliness in the yard.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks (oil, grease, cleanliness) on material handling equipment.
  • Assist with other departments as workload shifts.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and support housekeeping duties.
