About The Position

This role involves operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following indicated work methods. The primary focus is on the Unitizer, which includes making it ready, operating it, and performing maintenance. The position requires observing and monitoring machine operations to detect malfunctions and make necessary adjustments. Troubleshooting and correcting product defects caused by the machine are also key responsibilities. Basic routine adjustments and repairs to the machine are expected. The role also involves setting up and operating the machine to meet established specifications, ensuring all units are completed to specifications, including special instructions. Additionally, the position requires loading, unloading, moving, stacking, and staging product and materials using a forklift, pull packs, or other power equipment. Maintaining facilities' equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion, including daily inspections and minor maintenance on forklifts or other equipment, is essential. The role also includes keeping appropriate records and reports for inventory control and security, assisting in physical inventories, and maintaining housekeeping standards at all times. Conducting operations in a manner that promotes safety and maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area are paramount. Compliance with all safety rules and quality policies and protocols is mandatory. The position is also responsible for managing the waste of the department and performing other duties as assigned by managers or supervisors.

Requirements

  • Able and willing to perform and sustain productivity goals (keep the line running, zero down time, etc.).
  • Ability to problem solve with minimal assistance.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with other employees, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Be able to interpret and understand Kiwi Factory Floor Feedback. (Machine line up.)
  • Be able to read and understand IRF Unit Tracking system.
  • Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc.) and be able to perform basic arithmetic including additions, subtractions, multiplications and division.
  • Comply with all IPs Safety rules and Quality policies and protocols at all times.
  • Must have ability to learn and understand all operations of the Unitizer.
  • Must have ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must have ability to understand and accurately utilize KIWI.

Responsibilities

  • Makes ready, operates and maintains the Unitizer.
  • Observes and monitors basic machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots and corrects product defects caused by the machine.
  • Performs basic routine adjustments during the shift.
  • Identifies and makes basic repairs to the machine.
  • Sets up and operates machine meeting established published specifications.
  • Ensures all units are completed to specifications including “special instructions” if applicable.
  • Loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages product and materials using a forklift, pull packs or other power equipment.
  • Maintains the facilities’ equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • On a daily basis, inspects and performs minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
  • Keeps appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
  • Assists in physical inventories.
  • Maintains housekeeping standards all the time.
  • Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Complies with all IP’s Safety rules and Quality policies and protocols at all times.
  • Responsible for managing the waste of the department.
  • Other duties as assigned by managers and or supervisors/shift leader.
