About The Position
ACT Aerospace is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Technician to join our logistics team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all outgoing orders are processed, packed, and shipped accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, proficiency in using shipping software, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with handheld scanners (RF scanners) and basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel/Outlook).
- Exceptional ability to verify part numbers, quantities, and addresses without error.
- Ability to perform basic calculations for weight, dimensions, and unit counts.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions.
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating heavy machinery, such as forklifts or electric pallet jacks (Certification preferred).
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs documentation.
- Previous experience in logistics.
- Experience with specific ERP/WMS software is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on packing slips and digital orders.
- Inspect all items for quality and damage before packing to ensure 100% order accuracy.
- Select appropriate packaging materials (boxes, bubble wrap, dunnage) to prevent damage during transit.
- Securely pack items according to company standards and shipping regulations.
- Generate accurate shipping labels using shipping software.
- Prepare all necessary shipping documentation, including packing slips, commercial invoices, and BOLs (Bills of Lading).
- Update the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP to reflect completed shipments and adjusted inventory levels.
- Coordinate with freight carriers and drivers for timely pickups.
- Assist in regular cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.
- Monitor shipping supply levels (tape, boxes, pallets) and notify supervisors when reordering is needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation and loading dock area.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
