About The Position

This position is responsible for performing all daily activities within the Shipping Department and is cross trained to help picking when needed. The role involves preparing goods for shipment, maintaining shipping inventory, and accurately sending medications using UPS WorldShip. The technician will also be involved in receiving and distributing incoming deliveries, operating a pallet jack, and loading/unloading trucks. A key responsibility includes ensuring the accuracy of prescriptions using a computerized compounding system, obtaining, counting, labeling, and packaging medications, and stocking them appropriately. The position requires sound judgment, adherence to guidelines, and basic computer skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Must exhibit punctuality and low absenteeism
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to sit and/or stand 8-10 hours or more per day as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on a regular basis
  • NJ Pharmacy Technician License (upon hire or within 90 days)
  • PTCB Certification or completion of Stokes Healthcare’s internal training class (upon hire or within 90 days)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Uses addition, subtraction, multiplication and the division of numbers including decimals and fractions when checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data where interpretation is required involving basic skills knowledge.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where substantial standardization exists.
  • Able to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.

Nice To Haves

  • Warehouse shipping experience a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare goods for shipment according to Company standards
  • Assist in maintaining shipping inventory
  • Participate in the timely receipt and distribution of incoming deliveries according to Company standards
  • Accurately use UPS WorldShip to send medications to the correct recipient
  • Must be able to use a pallet jack
  • Must be able to load/unload a truck
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned
  • Ensure accuracy of all prescriptions using our computerized compounding system
  • Obtain, count, label and package medications from pharmacy stock
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment in decision making, following established guidelines and procedures
  • Stocking of medication to proper location on shelf
