About The Position

The Shipping Lead will provide timely and accurate shipping of goods and materials. The successful candidate will provide leadership in guiding, developing and implementing shipping processes focused on achieving business objectives.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in all functional areas within a fast-paced, technically focused manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Must be hands-on capable of effective project management, and implementing tactics to drive Company initiatives in a time sensitive manner
  • Must be results-oriented and demonstrate strategic thinking, innovation, flexibility in dealing with changing and ambiguous situations
  • Demonstrated success working in highly collaborative multi-function environment, with a track record of accomplishment with measurable business impact and managing within a matrix environment
  • Excellent project management skills including successful leadership of projects from planning phase through completion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, delivery of results, consultative, partnership skills and team building skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of shipping experience with recent experience supporting complex manufacturing organizations
  • Strong basic math skills, especially with measurements
  • Microsoft Office including intermediate in Excel and Word
  • Strong computer literacy in order to navigate customer websites and portals
  • Prefer ERP/MRP experience

Nice To Haves

  • Aviation and/or Defense Industry experience a plus.
  • Forklift certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Complete all shipments in a timely and safe manner
  • Run production reports and open sales report for all items to be shipped on time to the respective customer
  • Ensure proper paperwork is with all shipments
  • Complete packing slip, shipping labels, and other customer requirements
  • Review that items are packaged properly to eliminate risk of damage
  • Stage shipping items based on priorities
  • Reconcile inventory balances for finished goods when inconsistent with system levels
  • Maintain stock for all packing and shipping supplies
  • Place internal order for all crates that must be built for upcoming shipments
  • Act as the Company focal point to initiate, oversee and participate in the delivery of shipping services
  • Manage portal accesses and record keeping for customer account information
  • Cross train as a backup for product part marking
  • Adapt and promote best in class practices, foster collaboration across the Company, ensures smooth implementations of solutions and build the overall capability of the organization
  • Participate in developing goals, objectives, and systems
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
