Shipping Team Member
About The Position
This role is responsible for accurately checking outgoing and incoming shipments, verifying parts against packing lists, and ensuring the safe handling and protection of all parts. The team member will also be responsible for the safety and training of up to three partners, maintaining good housekeeping, performing routine preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all documented procedures. This position requires a thorough knowledge of parts and their locations, the ability to create and maintain a team environment, and the capacity to work with limited supervision to ensure safety, quality, and production goals are met. The role also involves cross-training and filling in other departments as needed, practicing safe working habits, and following all safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to operate crane and become forklift certified.
- Should be able to lift 20-60 pounds
- Move material to the correct location per area
- Make sure the material is tagged correctly
- Good verbal communication and written skills
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle, following assigned routes and using GPS or maps to navigate
- Load and unload packages from the vehicle, ensuring they are securely placed
- Deliver parts in a timely and professional manner, interacting with customers and resolving any issues
- Inspect and maintain the delivery vehicle, reporting any issues to the supervisor
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations, ensuring the safety of themselves and the material
- Plan efficient routes for deliveries, considering traffic conditions and delivery schedules
Responsibilities
- Accurately and completely check all outgoing and incoming shipments as shipped or received
- Check packing list against part number and visual identification of parts prior to loading. Work with customers, transportation and manufacturing departments.
- Locate parts in staging areas. Requires thorough knowledge of parts and location of parts in staging areas, familiarity with requirements of material
- Responsible for the safety of up to three partners at any given time
- Responsible for the handling and protection of all parts. This includes ensuring all parts are properly placed and secure to prevent damage.
- Responsible for the safety and training of others.
- Responsible for compliance with all documented procedures and employee handbook.
- Responsible for the quality and quantity of the finished product.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a team environment.
- Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping.
- Responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance on associated equipment.
- Responsible for safety, quality, and production with limited supervision.
- Responsible for any other tasks assigned by Supervisor, as required.
