About The Position

The Shipping Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and managing all shipping operations within the warehouse to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of shipping personnel, optimizing workflow, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The Shipping Supervisor ensures that all orders are picked, pulled, packed, and shipped efficiently while minimizing errors and delays. They also manage inventory accuracy and collaborate closely with other departments such as receiving and inventory control to support seamless warehouse operations. Ultimately, the Shipping Supervisor drives operational excellence to meet customer expectations and contribute to the overall success of the supply chain.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment and random drug screenings
  • 2+ years related experience
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to work in excessively hot and cold conditions due to outside environment of warehouse
  • OSHA regulated Steel Toe Shoes: Either an ASTM F243 M/I/50/C/50 or ANSI Z41 PT M/I/50/50. Or an ASTM F2413 F/I/50/C/50 or ANSI Z41 PT F/I/50/C/50

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a high level of customer service is always provided, internally and externally
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable shipping team
  • Oversee outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
  • Study shipping notices, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules
  • Utilize knowledge of shipping best practices for procedures and routes
  • Develop team specific roles and daily tasks, and evaluate work performance
  • Assist with design and implementation of work methods and operational procedures
  • Determine space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lay out position of shipment
  • Determine routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits
  • Load and inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications
  • Inspect material handling equipment for defects, notify maintenance personnel or outside service facility for repair
  • Attention to inventory discrepancies, with a focus on scanning accuracy
  • Maintain reports, records, and documentation to reflect department activities
  • Compile records of unfilled orders
  • Maintain a clean and orderly shipping area and assist with warehouse and yard
  • Perform other various duties, as outlined by supervisor
