About The Position

Concordance Healthcare Solutions is seeking a full-time 2nd Shift Shipping Supervisor for their Chicago, IL distribution center. The primary role of the Shipping Supervisor is to provide leadership and direction for the Shipping department, overseeing the efficient and safe handling of merchandise for shipment and departmental staff to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. The shift time is from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with overtime required. Requirements

High school diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of three years of related experience required.
Must be able to lift/pull/carry at least 70 pounds.
Must be willing/able to stand and walk for the entire shift, often over 8 hours (with or without accommodation).
Strong customer service, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively build relationships.
Self-starter with a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team.
Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in warehouse operations or distribution is preferred.
Previous experience supervising, training, developing, and providing direction to staff is a plus.
Thorough knowledge of Voice Pick and VAI systems (or similar warehouse management or operating system) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Organizing the daily workload of the Shipping Department and directing employees accordingly.
Ensuring freight and packages are moved to destinations on time.
Interviewing and hiring quality staff members.
Overseeing a strong training regimen for new staff and continuously developing new and experienced workers.
Managing staff and completing performance management reviews twice a year.
Overseeing and being directly involved in productivity, quality, freight handling, customer service, and safety within the Shipping operations.
Ensuring prompt, efficient, and accurate handling of merchandise.
Developing and implementing team goals.
Providing leadership by example while assisting with daily shipping functions.
Performing duties such as building and consolidating pallets of customer shipments, organization and staging of the department, and preparing orders for shipment with external carriers.
Ensuring departments maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Assigning general custodial tasks and establishing cleaning schedules.
Supporting a healthy and safe work environment by communicating unsafe conditions immediately.
Maintaining warehouse equipment to ensure employee safety and addressing any reported mechanical issues.
Fostering and maintaining a positive team-oriented atmosphere.
