About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations, ensuring accurate product loading, and communicating customer requirements. The position involves working with various departments in both office and manufacturing settings, requiring strong organizational and communication skills. The Shipping Supervisor will also play a key role in production scheduling, inventory management, and quality control of returned goods. Additionally, the role involves coaching and managing subordinates, ensuring adherence to safety and company policies, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily orders and prioritize shipping tasks.
  • Ensure correct products are loaded for shipment.
  • Communicate customer requirements to Lead personnel.
  • Determine whether to ship from production or inventory.
  • Make decisions regarding product substitutions.
  • Work with Production Manager to generate a production schedule.
  • Assist in determining monthly inventory levels.
  • Conduct quality checks on all returned goods.
  • Communicate with Traffic Dispatcher/6014 Personnel.
  • Coach and follow up on subordinates.
  • Ensure subordinates adhere to safety rules.
  • Adhere to safety, EEOC and OSHA policies.
  • Ensure equipment security.
  • Maintain housekeeping in shipping and warehouse areas.
  • Communicate and assist in preventive and predictive maintenance in the assigned area.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.
  • Ensure quality of rolls and work meets standards.
  • Initiate Corrective and Preventive action to prevent nonconformities related to product, process, and the system.
  • Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process, and the quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Observe the process in the area of responsibility and notify the Traffic Manager of any suspected nonconformance.
