About The Position

Clopay Corporation is seeking a 3rd shift Shipping Supervisor for their Troy Location. This role is responsible for managing shipping, receiving, staging, storing, inventory, and delivery of inventory items. The supervisor will also be responsible for securing the shipping, receiving, and warehousing areas and supervising staff. The 3rd shift hours are Monday to Thursday - 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM and Friday 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. This position directs hourly shipping and receiving personnel, interfaces with Clopay management, and has departmental budget responsibilities.

  • 5 years' experience in leading a team in a manufacturing environment is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, supply chain management, or related field, or comparable experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of personnel, quality, and security of product.
  • Arrive before shift start time to meet with the prior shift supervisor and prepare for the incoming shift.
  • Lead, delegate, and motivate employees.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and safe shipping docks, warehouse areas, staging area(s), and all storage areas.
  • Instruct coordinators, loaders, material handlers, and equipment operators on the safe handling of material.
  • Verify all outgoing products and shipments to customers, ensuring accurate quantity counts and general quality.
  • Manage inventory by properly handling staging and shipping finished goods, coordinating inventory transfers with internal departments.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and formulate recommendations to improve product flow and appropriate equipment.
  • Implement identified safety, quality, and productivity initiatives.
  • Select, train, coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and document appropriately.
  • Plan, monitor, and appraise employees by completing regular reviews and annual EPPRs.
  • Accomplish staging, shipping, and organization mission by completing related reports as needed.
