About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the shipping and receiving of goods in accordance with customer and freight carrier requirements. The position involves receiving goods, verifying and recording incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, and ensuring proper distribution of related documents. The role also includes performing preliminary inspections of received components, potentially supervising or coordinating efforts, and making deliveries or pick-ups as required. Responsibilities extend to the proper identification and disposal of waste packaging materials, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shipping/receiving area and company vehicles. Operation of hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts is essential, with a requirement for proficiency in forklift operation in tight spaces.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Understanding of freight carriers
  • Understanding of customs regulations
  • Understanding of pertinent FAA/aerospace regulations
  • Understanding of waste disposal (hazardous/non-hazardous)
  • Understanding of relevant forms/logs
  • Proficiency with forklift to operate in tight spaces
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Package and ship goods in accordance with customer and freight carrier requirements.
  • Receive goods in accordance with applicable quality procedure and work instructions.
  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment by comparing identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Assure proper distribution of all related documents, paperwork, etc.
  • Perform preliminary inspection of received components and issue copy of proper production traveler.
  • May supervise/coordinate efforts/schedule/or act as trucking personnel.
  • Delivery/Pick-up of components as required.
  • Safely transport products between company and customers/suppliers.
  • Proper identification (hazardous/non-hazardous) and disposal of waste packaging materials.
  • Maintenance/housekeeping of Shipping/Receiving area and company owned vehicles.
  • Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Perform other duties as required.
