About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Shipping – Receiving person, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.
  • High School Diploma (completed and verified prior to start)
  • The ability to obtain a Class A or B CDL license within 90 days of employment

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year AA Degree
  • Trade / Technology degree
  • Forklift license
  • Knowledge of metal polishing and polishing experience.
  • 3 Years of Machine shop experience.
  • 5 years of 3M manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Receive in items from carriers & indicate item received in electronically
  • Verify all items for quantity, size, identification numbers and look for damage
  • Move the received items to the proper holding areas
  • Process all shipments required by Supervisors and project managers
  • Create documentation for shipment
  • Coordinate International shipments with International Engineering dept. as needed.
  • Create BOL and packing slips then using the appropriate system indicate item shipped and project is complete and/or finished electronically
  • Move all materials as required by paged requests
  • Visually check the shipping / receiving areas daily for material handling requirements
  • Issue material / commercial items and kit up.
  • Label steel with type, release and sales order/work order as needed.
  • Perform part shipping prep as needed, including crate and container design and assembly needed for deliveries.
  • Assign and expedite outsource vendor orders following sourcing requirements using purchasing methods and order processes.
  • Reconcile monthly purchasing charges applying appropriate department charges as needed.
  • Load and unload plant shipped and received freight.
  • Transit of materials to and from the warehouse using the Class B truck
  • Distribute incoming prints/paperwork as needed.
  • Order and maintain factory supplies by requesting replenishment stock through appropriate electronic system(s).
  • Communicate parts received to the appropriate Project owner that are not tied to a packing slip in our electronic system.
  • Comply with corporate policies, procedures and security standards while performing assigned duties.
  • Contribute to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement.
