Join the Grede team and accelerate your development with a best-in-class organization! Our Shipping/Receiving associates verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. Must take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production.

Requirements

  • 6+ months of experience in shipping/receiving
  • Working knowledge of forklift operations
  • Ability to lift/handle heavy objects frequently.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours.
  • Self-motivated and willing to work as a team member to empower yourself and others to succeed.
  • Maintain a good attendance record, follow all company safety policies, and keep work environment clean.

Responsibilities

  • Perform shipping and receiving duties.
  • Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
  • Responsible to make arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Additional duties as directed by supervisor.
