The Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Forklift Operator is a safety-conscious individual responsible for operating industrial trucks, including forklifts, and potentially scissor lifts, Yard Dogs, electronic pallet jacks, and boom lifts. This role operates in a fast-paced environment, ensuring finished products are safely and properly loaded into freights, the warehouse, or designated areas, using scanners or computers for order tracking. The operator collaborates closely with the RTE department for product transfer and plays a crucial role in the final stages of shipping, preparing goods to meet excellent quality standards and adhering to food safety systems.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience driving industrial trucks.
  • Able to use computer for tracking and or emailing purposes.
  • Experience and knowledge in working in a shipping, warehouse, and or receiving working environment.
  • Position requires standing, sitting, and walking on a regular basis for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays.
  • Team player, able to lead and ability to get along in a group environment.
  • Strong communication skills and follow directions.
  • Near vison-ability to see details at close range.
  • Ability to continuously use trunk strength-abdominal and lower back to support repeated bodily movement.
  • Ability to wear all PPE required.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift 50+ lbs.
  • Reliable attendance is an essential function on the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably 1 year of experience in food manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift Driver Certification preferred but not needed.
  • Read and write English preferred.
  • Math Skills and computer skills a plus.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload products using forklift trucks.
  • Load trucks, stock floor and maintain return product and pallets and shelves.
  • Maintain the stability of the pallet by properly stacking and if needed shrink wrapping.
  • Prepare goods for shipments into freights or designated locations.
  • Perform general housekeeping in the warehouse.
  • Pick and audit order by working from order sheets to build loads for transport, bulk or route for trucks.
  • Complete daily forklift inspection reports and maintain records onsite.
  • Maintain quality standards.
  • Pays close attention to details and scanning and uploading information.
  • Reports any product discrepancies to Lead/Supervisor.
  • Follows and complies with established procedures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and product to ensure that packaging specifications are met.
  • Safety awareness when using or working around a forklift.
  • Assist with fumigation process.
  • Provide security check when necessary of the Plant.
  • May assist at the scale house with in bound and out bound traffic/freights.
  • May keep track and log in and distribute packages and mail throughout the plant.
