About The Position

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Shipping/Receiving Specialist to join our team. The Shipping/Receiving Specialist will prepare and package all contracted spare parts, sub-assemblies, or finished engines to customers, vendors, and to other corporate locations -- both nationally and internationally. They will also receive and sign for incoming freight, identify materials, verify count, and dispense materials to proper cell designation, ensuring the existence of receivers, bills of lading and other receiving documentation. Additionally, they will package and ship outgoing materials in accordance with shipping instructions, identify shipments, verify count, and address, preparing or ensuring the availability of shippers and other shipping documentation. The role also involves performing other miscellaneous duties such as filing and retrieving paperwork, receiving return goods, packaging and crating materials, and distributing or routing materials or supplies. Providing transportation services for local pick up and deliveries, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and complying with 6S standards are also key responsibilities. The specialist will practice Total Quality Management, ensuring any direct or indirect activity/knowledge which would adversely impact the quality, cost or schedule performance of our products must be dealt with conclusively and timely.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of prior, related work experience in such areas as packaging, shipping/receiving.
  • Keyboarding skills.
  • Knowledge of computer systems.
  • Forklift operation.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
  • Capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs.
  • Grip strength of at least 50 lbs.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Package and ship outgoing materials, in accordance with shipping instructions. Identifies shipments, verifies count, and address. Prepares or assures the availability of shippers and other shipping documentation.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties such as filing and retrieving paperwork, receiving return goods, packaging and crating materials, and distributing or routing materials or supplies.
  • Provides transportation services for local pick up and deliveries.
