About The Position

The Shipping & Transportation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the distribution process at the plant level, ensuring the timely and cost-efficient delivery of inventory and finished goods. This position works closely with production and sales teams to coordinate outbound shipments, ensuring the accurate and on-time delivery of orders to customers.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years in an administrative support role in a professional setting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively to different teams
• Knowledge of office procedures and systems such as file management, record keeping, and designing forms
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on efficiency and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Process bills of lading, shipping documents, freight bills, and other relevant paperwork to ensure all shipments are documented correctly
• Ensure the shipping office is fully stocked and organized, with all necessary supplies ordered and ready for daily operations
• Develop and organize shipping routes to optimize delivery times and reduce costs
• Coordinate outbound shipments with sales and production personnel to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries
• Liaise with shippers, carriers, and customers to expedite deliveries, resolve any issues, and maintain strong business relationships
• Communicate effectively with production and sales teams to ensure alignment on delivery schedules and inventory requirements
• Monitor and report on the productivity of the shipping department, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company standards
• Step in as Traffic Manager or Shipping Supervisor when required, providing leadership and support in their absence
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the shipping and transportation functions
